Y's P.A.T.H. to Weight Loss Program
Obesity is a growing epidemic in our country, and as a result, weight loss is becoming a huge industry. The path to a healthy lifestyle begins with proper nutrition, exercise, and behavior modification. Here at the South County Family YMCA, we’d like to offer you all of those in one program. By combining exercise prescriptions, a healthy eating plan, and behavior modification and education, we can help you achieve your weight loss goals.
What is the Y’s P.A.T.H?
The P.A.T.H. is a personalized weight loss program that encompasses the various factors that are key to achieving and maintaining a healthy weight. By improving your exercise habits, making healthy eating choices, and maintaining a positive attitude, you can help ensure a healthier lifestyle.

- Our Lose A Ton program/competition: our YMCA members are trying to lose 2010 lbs by 2010. Join the team effort!
- Having a Fit Check done: this free appointment assesses your cardiovascular fitness, muscular strength, flexibility, and body composition. Do a follow up in 2 months and see if your workout is really working FOR you.
- Getting a Body Bugg Metabolic Analysis: wear the arm band Body Bugg device for three days then meet with a Wellness Coach for our personal metabolic analysis. The Bugg measures and records your daily caloric expenditure. There is no cheating or fudging! Find out exactly how many calories you burn every day. This valuable tool helps you determine how many calories you can consume to reach your body composition goals.
- Joining our Seasonal Seven weight gain prevention program: Did you know the average person gains between 5-10 lbs each holiday season? Not this year! Prevention is the key and we can show you how. No zippers or tape is involved!
